Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) throwing is revolutionizing how we train arms—unlocking results we’ve never seen until now.

How does this work?

Blood Flow Restriction works by restricting a specific percentage of blood flow going to the extremity.  This causes a hypoxic (low oxygen) state in the extremity which signals the brain to produce biological responses to support the reduced oxygen.  This has been shown to create a high-workload response under a much lower stimulus.

What does that mean?

Essentially, you can train under a much smaller stress load but get the same results as if you were training with a high stress load.

Is this safe?

Absolutely, but you should follow proper training protocols when using the BFR device.  The Delfi unit has the unique capabilities to auto-regulate the pressure as you move so that the desired pressure stays consistent.  Any device that's not capable of doing this rapidly would put the athlete at a significant risk of injury.  In addition to auto-regulation, it features patented limb occlusion pressure technology, ensuring the desired occlusion pressure is maintained throughout the training process with extreme accuracy.  Studies have shown that it's the most reliable device on the market for this.  It's currently the only blood flow restriction device that's FDA regulated.

Ways to Purchase a Delfi BFR Throwing System

Medical Professionals

  • Take the in-person day-long course and pass the test to become certified

  • Current Delfi owners can purchase a separate Throwing System

Athletes

Take the online course and pass the certifaction test

Why Delfi should be the only BFR device you throw with

Patented Limb Occlusion Pressure Technology

Delfi's patented limb occlusion pressure technology finds the precise pressure needed for the individual for that training session.  No guesses needed.  This safety mechanism sets the Delfi PTS in a class of its own.  A study was published recently highlighting this feature against the top devices on the market and the results were staggering.

Rapid Pressure Auto-Regulation

The rapid auto-regulation feature is the most important factor when using BFR for throwing, and no one does it better than Delfi.  Other devices may advertise an auto-regulation feature, but not to the speed that Delfi adjusts.  When throwing a baseball, football, or any object, the throw is completed in less than a second.  If the pressure can't adjust that quickly, then the potential risk for injury goes up.

Wide Cuff Width

The wider the cuff, the more the pressure is spread out, which means less strain on your muscles, nerves, and veins. A narrow cuff puts that same pressure on a smaller area, which can lead to pinpoint stress and increase the risk of irritation or discomfort.

The Delfi Throwing Cuff is 4.5 inches wide and conically shaped, which helps distribute pressure more evenly. That means you're getting the benefits of BFR training—like improved strength and recovery—without putting unnecessary stress on the tissues under the cuff. It’s a safer, more effective option, especially if you’re training at a high level and want to protect your body while pushing performance.
